Dr. Jerri Lynn Hogg is a pioneering media psychologist, researcher, global speaker, and award-winning educator who operates at the forefront of human behavior, artificial intelligence, and digital media innovation. With a career dedicated to exploring the physical, cognitive, and emotional impacts of emerging technologies, Dr. Hogg works extensively with corporations, leadership teams, educational institutions, and communities. Her work focuses on designing "best-use" digital strategies, advancing brand psychology, and optimizing augmented and virtual environments to foster positive societal change.
A recognized authority on cognitive defense and strategic narrative psychology, Dr. Hogg has contributed her specialized expertise to high-stakes global security initiatives. She has collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Global Operations on counter-terrorism strategies, utilizing narrative psychology to analyze and dismantle extremist messaging. Additionally, her work with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) focused on cognitive defense, specifically investigating human psychological vulnerabilities to better understand and mitigate the effects of digital fatigue and information overload.
Dr. Hogg’s leadership within the psychological and technological sectors is extensive. She is a past President of the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Society for Media Psychology and Technology and currently chairs the APA’s Artificial Intelligence Task Force. Reflecting her commitment to the responsible evolution of technology, she is an active member of the Women in Technology International (WITI) Artificial Intelligence Think Tank. In higher education, she served as the longtime director of the Media Psychology program at Fielding Graduate University, where she co-created pioneering professional certificates in Brand Psychology, Audience Engagement, and Positive Media. She also serves on the advisory board for the University of California, Irvine’s Internet Marketing Certificate Program and has been recognized as Sofia University’s Innovation and Technology Thought Leader.
