Projects

We are dedicated to exploring the impact of media and technology on individuals and society. Our research and programs are grounded in psychological science, with a focus on helping individuals successfully navigate our media saturated society. Our goals are to understand how media and technology can be used to create positive change, and to foster an environment where individuals can be empowered to make responsible decisions.  We can't do the work without your support.

Dr. Eddington is leading a groundbreaking research project to collect and analyze the stories of Black women who have reached the highest levels of success, searching for the common threads that helped them rise above systemic barriers. This research will generate urgently needed insights and recommendations—tools that can help countless others better cope with, and ultimately overcome, the race and gender-based bias they experience every day. I hope we can count on your support. Thank you!

MASCITEC® is an informal education program that focuses on math, media, arts, science, engineering, and technology using a project-based approach. Guided by psychological science, it aims to boost students' interest in STEAM subjects. By engaging in this type of education, students learn to take thoughtful risks, participate in hands-on learning, and tackle problems persistently. They also embrace collaboration and navigate the creative process, becoming innovators, educators, and leaders of the 21st century!

Disinformation-Fake News.jpg

With the rise of misinformation and disinformation and other online threats, there has never been a greater need to help students and adults develop the skills to combat information pollution. We develop media literacy programs for all ages to teach people how to critically analyze the media content they consume, and arm them with resources to investigate questionable stories and sources.

Against the Odds: The Power of Community to Overcome, is a multi-platform media campaign to examine how we cope with the new reality of frequent, devastating natural disasters and their impact on mental health and emotional well-being. We will explore how people  approach recovery, and how they develop resilience when major weather events are frequent, unpredictable, and the new normal.
